LUTMAN'S 2016 BRAZIL BIRDING TRIP

NOTE:  When Sharon adds comments, they will be in {curly brackets}.

Report 10. Thursday, September 15, 2016.

This is a TRAVEL DAY. We are flying to the city of Cuiaba, gateway to the Pantanal and Cerrado.

Below left is the living room. You can see down the hall. Our room was the last door on the right, going down that hall. Below right is the room you leave when you go down to the basement, where we have parked the Doblo. This particular accommodation did not include lunch or dinner, but we did have breakfast here. And coffee before that, of course.

Out in the real (bird) world, I get a nice Whistling Heron. I love the couple of feathers that stick out behind their head. Like beads or something. Love stopping the action of the big white birds.

This bird, reminding me of our Pileated Woodpecker, is a Lineated Woodpecker. Flying to Cuiaba (say coo-yuh-BA. I think I did this one already).

The best Carls Jr. burger I've ever hard - at the airport, no less. Setting sun on the wing and a river as we drop into Cuiaba.

About to land. A nice person took our photo with the GOL airliner behind u.

Cheers,
Bob
