Report 46. Day 46. Thu, June 19. Bob to the Hospital ER for Checkup.

I wake up and I'm still sick. No improvement at all. {I say "Bob, I think we should have a doctor listen to your lungs. I haven't heard any improvement from 48 hours of the inhalers and antibiotics he has been taking and they usually work faster than this.} Now I want to go to a clinic and have them check me out, to make sure nothing big's going on. We find Regional Hospital, and we go into the ER.

After a lot of tests, they decide that I don't hold any big surprises, and prescribing me some oral prednisone over the next five days, they send me out the door. {Great staff there and now we are sure there isn't anything going on with his heart failure or any pneumonia going on. They do cultures, take blood for chemistries, and take an Xray. After a breathing treatment the doctor says he thinks the air is moving better in Bob's lungs though Bob says he doesn't notice much difference. We both feel better that nothing horrible is going on even though Bob FEELS horrible. Poor guy. We hope the prednisone knocks this out. I take advantage of the time to do laundry and clean the trailer for the next part of our trip.}

Cheers,
Bob and Sharon
