Day 53. Tuesday, September 15, 2015. To Sharon's Sister Jeane's near Granbury Texas.

Our path today is shown in the blue line below.

Our target today is Sharon's sister Jeane and husband Wendell's home near Granbury, Texas. They live in a gated community called Pecan Plantation, and it has its own air strip and, what interests us, is their own RV park.

Here's our spot in Northlake Village. As you can see, the popout is popped in. Sharon is folding up the mat she puts down under the stairsteps at each stop. {I miss my "team" , Nancy and I were a team when we were packing up to leave every morning. Now I'm doing it all myself.}

We're off, and there is a concrete manufacturing facility here that is making these rectangular concrete components. This is the stands for the Texas Motor Speedway. Let me tell you, car racing is HUGE down here.

On the road at 9:45am, Sharon is seeing Scissortail Flycatchers, {My favorite Texas bird}and I saw one fly in front of the truck. We just got on Interstate 35.

As we approach this bristling display, I decide that they must be building a stadium. The white cranes at far left of the first photo below are to hold up a huge section. But wait! In the second photo, Sharon has already pegged it as a sales display for cranes. That Sharon. Always ahead of me by a step.

By 11:00 we are already at the Plantation check-in place, having passed through the little town of Acton to get here.

And at 11:45, we are in the RV park and set up. Sharon called Jeane earlier, and Jeane has driven their golf cart down to meet us and bring us back to their home. The left photo is our rig, as seen through a post of the golf cart. {This is a great RV park with electricity, water and sewer for guests of the home owners here. It has big trees and is just across the street from the Brazos River. Pretty nice setup.}

Then when we finish visiting this evening, Sharon and I will drive the cart back to our trailer in the dark. The golf cart has lights, so that's no problem.

Here is their house, as we approach in the golf cart.

We catch up on events with Jeane and Wendell, and about 9:00 we golf cart our way back. {No street lights here so it is really dark. We use a combination of the golf cart lights and one of our flashlights to get back to our rig.}

It's 11 pm and I'm getting sleepy. So good night.
